(trailer review) - The Crow

The Crow is a remake of an old film from the 90's where the lead actor died on set in a freak-accident where a real bullet was used to kill Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee. The film was loved and became a cult hit among fans, but for a very long time since, they have been trying to get this franchise up and running again. They call it 'development hell' when they cannot seem to get a project to go ahead and it is ridiculed with set backs after set backs. At one point, Jason Mamoa was set to be the lead and I think that is where I last knew where we were with this project, until now. Bill "The 'IT' Clown is the lead and this looks really good. I never saw the 90's film and I think there was a time I saw parts of it or wanted to, but in all honesty, I think I was caught up on the "curse" of the Lee family more than wanting to watch this movie, but with that said, a man out for revenge to avenge his slain wife, but he was also slain too but comes fro

(trailer review) - Deadpool and Wolverine

First of all, I should be sleeping but I got wind of this trailer and, well...I had to watch it, because, Deadpool? Anyway, this film has been a few years in the making and due to the Pandemic and the writers strike of 2023 (events that have delayed this movie), we have had two CEO's of Disney come in and leave (one left to come back) in the time this movie was thought of, being considered, written and shot, and we have heard nothing but rumours of potential characters, "confirmed" characters, leaks and pictures and videos and finally a teaser trailer is here for what is being called 'Deadpool & Wolverine'. I cannot say I am a fan of the name, but whatever, it still looks pretty decent. The trailer starts off with a line directed to us, the viewers/audience, that although this is now a Disney movie, this movie is not for kids, and I love it! From what I understand from this teaser trailer is that...a Deadpool from a different timeline has been called by th

(trailer review) - A Quiet Place: Day One

I think I watched 'A Quiet Place' for the first time at a friend's house. I feel like I remember everything about that week and what led up to me watching it. I remember having not gone to the cinema to watch it for whatever reasons and having such a great weekend, I was starting to have a terrible week. It was December 7th and I had recently seen the trailer to Birdbox. There was a lot of buzz around the Birdbox movie and although I do think Sandra Bullock is a great actress, I was not at all bothered about the movie because I kept hearing how 'A Quiet Place' is a great movie and how it was a better Birdbox movie, I just had not seen it yet. So I am at my friend's house and we are watching it and the staircase scene comes and I swear, I have never been so traumatized. Then you had the bathtub scene. You could cut the tension. From that moment, I knew the film was a winner so when the sequel came out, I did not hesitate to watch it. I loved the sequel also (alth

(trailer review) - Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

I haver probably said this somewhere on this blog that I have always been a Ghostbusters fan. I am not entirely sure as to what it is that draws me in, but I have always liked the movies, well...the first movies we it took me a long time to watch the second. I do not really remember watching the cartoon religiously but I am sure I watched a few episodes. I got the Xbox game that came out several years ago and enjoyed that (not sure if I completed it but I did enjoy it). I watched the all women's Ghostbusters reboot  they did and that was, well...ok-ish, more confusing than anything. When Ghostbusters Afterlife came out, I went to see it and really enjoyed it. I would not say I am a super fan as I am sure there are other games and mediums I have not seen, played or have taken an interest in, but I will still stand by what I have said, I like Ghostbusters. This trailer though, I have some reservations but I am intrigued by it. Although Dan Ackroyd has been known to try and get anot

(trailer review) - Monkey Man

The "younger" British talent seem to be stepping up and taking things a little further from simply just acting to directing and I love it! We all remember little Dev Patel from Slumdog Millionaire, right? He has come a long way from acting in what we Brits remember as a character from the TV show, 'Skins' with fellow actors Nicholas Hoult and Daniel Kaluuya, I have not personally seen him in much unlike the other two actors, but he is a decent actor. 'The Green Knight' was cool and very different, and I have heard so much about him in other shows and films as being really good, so seeing this trailer has brightened up my day. I have not seen many or any Bollywood movies, but when I watched Ms. Marvel, I loved the settings and scenery we got to experience in that show. Extraction with Chris Hemsworth was similar and even in a cartoon-like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it was and is simply, a breath of fresh air from seeing New York all the time, L.A, Flo
